A legend in the world of entertainment, for more than fifty years Marty was the road, tour, or production manager for more than 225 of the best-known musical artists, comedians and theatrical entertainers in the world, including most of the top 100 musical artists of the past century.
His music clientele included the likes of Ringo Starr, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin, Neil Young, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, The Monkees, Dionne Warwick, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, AC/DC, Waylon Jennings, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Stray Cats, Bo Diddley, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, Donovan, Fats Domino, The Everly Brothers, Billy Joel, Paul Anka, Little Richard, The Jacksons, Janis Joplin, the Moody Blues, Willie Nelson, The Grateful Dead, Roy Orbison. Prince, U2, and ZZ Top.
His theatrical clientele included Denzell Washington, Debbie Reynolds, Yul Brynner, Mickey Rooney, Mr. T., and Sylvester Stallone.
In the world of comedy, his clientele included Rodney Dangerfield, Jackie Mason, and Bill Cosby.
And that’s barely scratching the surface. There are several hundred more names of artists considered the elite of the entertainment world, who only had one demand when starting a tour or performing a concert, “Get Marty”.
Marty also worked with some of the most famous behind the scenes people, managers, theatrical producers, and concert promoters, like Shep Gordon (Alice Cooper, Luther Vandross, Groucho Marx, Kenny Loggins, Pink Floyd, Pointer Sisters, Blondie), Michael Cohl (former Chairman of Live nation, now head of S2BN Entertainment. Oversaw tours for Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder and U2), David Fishoff (L.A. based sports agent, public speaker, author, producer, and impresario) and Arthur Fogel (CEO of the Global Touring Division of Live nation).
Marty was revered by his clients and associates for his simple mantra of the client comes first, get the job done, under promise and over deliver. And the fact that he never had a bad word to say about them, always kept their confidence, and anticipated their every need didn’t hurt and probably explains why they always had only praise for him. When Marty once asked one of the leading promoters in the business for a reference, he gave him a short two sentence letter. “This is Marty Kramer. Hire him.” Which also explains why Marty not only has access to his former clients, but they also welcome his call.
Recently, Marty has been heavily involved in the world of tribute artists, and he was featured in the documentary, Almost, Almost Famous.
Many of the stories of his career with the most notable entertainers in the world will be featured in his forthcoming autobiography, “Kramer”.
Marty is currently involved in the Discovery Channels docuseries “Pets & Pickers” Season 2. He’s also working on his book release called “Kramer”. As well, Marty continues to tour with the legends of rock and roll.
